• It is an academic discipline of immense importance and involves the study of human behavior and the human mind as a whole, as well as its interaction with other people and animals.

• In the social sciences, it aims to understand individuals and groups on the basis of established general principles rather than investigating specific cases. By joining the broader neuroscientific group, psychologists strive to understand the evolution of the human mind and its evolved characteristics and associated phenomena.

What are the jobs and responsibilities?

• You can work in a multidisciplinary team or consult with other healthcare professionals. Psychologists are used to providing a wide range of medical, mental and other health services. Other specialists vary according to the type of psychologist, but all can be consulted by other health professionals in a variety of ways, such as in clinical practice, clinical research or clinical training.

• For example, a school psychologist can work with teachers, social workers, counsellors and doctors. Psychologists can also communicate with family members and other caregivers such as parents, children, grandparents, siblings, friends and work colleagues.

• The position of the psychologist requires travel to different places, and as a result, the hours can vary considerably from position to position. In some cases, psychologists work from home, in the office or even in a hotel.

• Psychological examinations are carried out by a team of psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers and other mental health professionals and recommendations for treatment and diagnosis are made.

• Psychological tests, measurements, documents and results are performed and interpreted internally and for the patient. Treatment plans are modified to respond to changes in circumstances such as changed health conditions, family circumstances and other environmental changes.
