For Deck side (Nautical Science): Unaided vision 6/6 in both eyes OR corrected to 6/6. Colour vision test must be passed — colour blindness disqualifies from Deck side. Engine side is more lenient — glasses are generally acceptable.
No strict height requirement but must be physically fit. BMI should be in healthy range.
No chronic medical conditions affecting fitness for sea service. No serious heart, lung, kidney conditions. Diabetes may be disqualifying depending on severity.
